Watch DOGS

Our PTA is thrilled to pilot a Watch DOGS program this year at Heatherwood!

WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative, educational initiative that involves parental figures to enhance the educational environment in our nation’s schools. Watch DOGs volunteer to spend a day at Heatherwood in a variety of school activities—helping in the classroom, supervising recess, and spending time in the cafeteria at lunch. Serving as a Watch DOG is a fun way to spend time with your child(ren) while also supporting the school as a volunteer.

Who can serve as a Watch DOG? Watch DOGS are typically fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures, but women are welcome too! So whether you're a mother, grandmother, aunt, family friend, or other caring adult, you are welcome to serve at least one day on campus each year under the leadership of a program coordinator and under the guidance of a school principal or designated administrator.

Informational Night: October 21

Please join us via zoom for an informational session on Thursday, October 21 at 7pm.

You'll learn more about the program, have a chance to ask questions, and sign up for a date to volunteer. Details coming soon!
