Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a volunteer program aimed at increasing the presence of fathers (and parental figures) in schools to serve as positive role models.
WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative, educational initiative that involves fathers and parental figures to enhance the educational environment in our nation’s schools. Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer to spend time at Heatherwood in a variety of school activities, including monitoring stairwells during class transitions and supervising lunch periods. Serving as a Watch DOG is a great way to support the school as a volunteer.
Heatherwood is one of over 2,200 schools across 42 states that make up the national program.
Who can serve as a Watch Dog? Anyone! Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other parental figures serve on campus each year under the leadership of a program coordinator and under the guidance of a school principal or designated administrator. Half-day and full-day opportunities are available!

STEP 1
Become an approved Everett School District Volunteer.
Every volunteer at Heatherwood must have a current approval from the District. To apply for volunteer approval visit this link (look at the Volunteer Application under Quicklinks). Approvals are good for two years. If you are uncertain of your status, you can view that at the same application link.
STEP 2
Pick a date and sign up

Enjoy your day at school!
Once District Approved you may sign up for a Watch D.O.G shift that suits your schedule as many times as you would like.
