November Meeting Update
PTA Fundraiser- EXTENSION!
Our annual PTA fundraiser ended on 10/26, but we only raised $9K, including company matching. Our goal for this year is $18K. This fundraiser is PTA’s only major fundraiser of the year which funds teacher and classroom grants, student assemblies and more. Our first round of staff grants will be voted on at our 11/14 PTA meeting. (Please help us)Let’s make sure we raise enough money to support them! Talk to your employer about corporate matching. Next PTA meeting 11/14/2018 – Please join us in the library at 7:00 pm. This is a new date due to Veterans Day. We will vote on the Fall Grants and will need members to vote! Also, the Lifetime Fitness teachers will present the sex education program at the beginning of the meeting.
Book Fair-Heatherwood only Book Fair starts this coming Monday, November 5th. We will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Wednesday we will be open from 7:55 a.m. to 7:55 p.m. Not only are we open during conference’s, so you can come and shop with your student, we are open during the entire school day! Your student is able to shop just before school, during their lunch break and during their ELA class library time. The online portion of our book fair is open now through November 15th. Reflections – 2018-19 PTSA REFLECTIONS THEME: “HEROES AROUND ME”
Entries are due Thursday, November 1, 2018 to the Heatherwood Front Office
Student Entry Form: Let your imagination fly and unleash your inner artist! Choreograph a dance, produce a film, write a poem or story, compose a song, take a picture or create a piece of visual art and tell us what the theme: “HEROES AROUND ME” means to you.

Candy Buy Back- Dr. Darvish’s ND orthodontist’s office will buy Halloween candy back from the kids for $1/lb. and then donate the candy to the troops. Dr. Darvish will also match the amount bought back and make a donation to the children’s school PTA program. The top class that brings in the most candy from all schools that participate, will win a pizza party hosted by Dr. Darvish.
